Green Energy
Various forms of energy are available to us and many we get from the burning of fossil fuel. The extensive use of fossil fuel has caused much decay to the natural resources like trees, land and aquatic lives. Human have invented many ways for his ease but at the same time, he has disrupt the natural cycle. The result of this disruption can be estimated from the fact that many resources of energy are now about to get exhausted. As the name indicates, green energy contains all those form of energies which are not harmful for the environment. Solar energy, hydro energy, geo thermal energy and wind energy comes under its heading. Green energy is the form of energy which is produced with no environmental pollutants and hazards.
Here we must not restrict our idea of green energy to only energy productions rather we can include all those components from the environment which are adding to its beauty, making it greener. Even a building which keeps itself cool during summer and warm during winter without the intervention of any harmful energy is also said to exhibit green energy. It is due to the reason that activities of the building are not causing any harm to the outer environment. Tree Hugger came up with the idea of green energy and their main objective was to make this earth a better and beautiful place for all living beings. There is no denying the fact that the vast resource of green energy comes from sun and wind. And both forms of energy are indispensable and in exhaustible. However solar energy is made useable by solar cells and photovoltaic cells, and for wind, windmills are used to generate energy.
Energy from the sun can be made available in two forms; active mode and passive mode. The active method involves conversion to electrical energy with the help of solar cells while the passive method is concerned with the generation of heat energy. Solar energy is in high demand these days due to its easy access and easy availability. The use of windmills is restricted to only few areas where strong wind blow. Normally they do small mechanical tasks like pumping water current and generating energy.
As far as adoption of these two green energy sources is concerned, in America alone only other energy sources contribute around 7%, while green energy only constitute 0.2%, which shows that huge investment can be made in this sector. Both wind and solar energy provide clean energy sources by using clean energy conversion methods. Green energy sources are pollutant free and they don’t cause any harm to the environment thus they can be used as a substitute for other energy sources.
